Description

The Department of Human Services, Office of Children, Youth and Families, Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN) and Independent Living Services (IL) will sponsor a Matching Reception on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at the 2025 SWAN/IL Summer Statewide Meeting, held at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions (Salons A, B, G, H) at 250 Kalahari Boulevard, Pocono Manor, PA  18349. The Matching Reception is a great way to introduce prospective and approved adoptive families to county caseworkers and affiliate workers conducting child-specific recruitment. It’s a prime opportunity to showcase children directly to families and the agencies representing them.

For affiliates:

The agency table registration deadline is May 22, 2025. Table space is limited. Walk-in table registrations will not be accepted. You must provide a valid email address to receive confirmation of your registration. If you do not receive a confirmation, your table is not reserved. Please contact the Pennsylvania Adoption Exchange (PAE) with table registration questions at pae@diakon-swan.org.

For families:

The purpose of a matching reception is to allow prospective adoptive families to meet and interact with the professionals who work directly with Pennsylvania’s children in need of permanency. Families can learn more about the children in Pennsylvania by viewing photos, posters, and multimedia presentations and talking directly to their workers.

Before attending the event, discuss with your worker any changes that may be needed to the special needs or characteristics sections in your Resource Family Application Registration/Update Form (CY131) and any changes to waiting child characteristics you may consider for your family.

We encourage pre-registration by June 3; however, walk-in registrations are welcome. On-site registration, check-in, and refreshments will be available at 5:00 pm on June 17, 2025.
