Description

The Office of Children, Youth and Families (OCYF), the prime contractor for the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN), and the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center’s Independent Living Project (IL) are pleased to announce the agenda for the 2025 SWAN/IL Spring Quarterly Meetings. They will be held in April throughout the state; please see the invitation link for dates and locations. The meetings will be in-person, with the exception of the April 29th meeting, which will be held virtually. SWAN affiliates are required to attend quarterly meetings, whether in person or virtually. We also invite and encourage each county children and youth agency to attend, including caseworkers, supervisors and administrators.

The morning general session of the 2025 SWAN/IL Spring Quarterly Meetings is titled “Building Resiliency.” With resilience, children and youth can diminish the effects of adversity. This session explores what resiliency is and why it is important. It will also discuss actions that resource parents, caregivers and professionals can take to nurture resiliency in the youth who are in their care.

Following the general session, we are pleased to offer a comprehensive agenda of three concurrent sessions in the afternoon. Please review the session descriptions accompanying the invitation. Approval of continuing education credit provided through co-sponsorship with the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, a Pennsylvania preapproved provider of social work continuing education, is pending. The SWAN prime contractor will also issue certificates of training that can be credited toward the 20 hours of annual training required for all county children and youth caseworkers.

To register, click on the link below. We look forward to seeing you as we continue to network for permanency on behalf of Pennsylvania’s children.
