Description
Kinship caregivers often enter the permanency process without planning to and with minimal time to process the monumental changes in their lives. This workshop examines the unique dynamics of the kinship care placement linked to motivation, preparation, relationships and cultural factors. Understanding the distinct needs of the kinship resource family will enable workers to more fully engage and support them throughout the permanency process. The workshop will also consider when and how the SWAN Units of Service can be used with kinship resource families to support the permanency process.
